The Dypsis Decaryi is a very spectacular palm native to Madagascar. This imposing and beautiful palm tree is characterized by the unique way the leaf bases are arranged to form the shape of a triangle. Tall, stiff, grey-green pinnate leaves grow almost upright from the trunk and arc gracefully around 1m from the tip. The solitary trunk, brown-grey in color is upright and smooth but marked by rings of fallen leaves. Although frost tender the shape of this beautiful palm makes it perfect for growing in a corner position of a bright conservatory, greenhouse or atrium. A highly ornamental palm which makes a great specimen but is still quite hard to come by.
