The Phoenix Theophrasti or Cretan Date Palm is a very architectural looking palm compact in appearance. A solitary trunked palm which can be become suckering( form multiple trunks) at it's base as it matures. It's spiky pinnate leaves are silvery-green which elegantly arch. It is easy to grow and is highly tolerant of salt, so perfect for coastal gardens.
Cold and damp tolerant it is also the hardiest of the date palms and given well drained soil, it will provide a stunning centerpiece for your garden

Native to: Eastern Mediteranean, Southern Greece, Crete, Turkish coast.
Hardiness: Hardy down to -8.
Growth Characteristics: Easy to grow, very architectural palm, with spikey silvery/ green feather- like arching leaves. Highly salt tolerant.

Moisture: Water regularly through summer, dry in winter.
